Damphousse out, common sense in

So perhaps Vinny realized that he had no business being in the GM conversation. Today, he announced that he was removing his candidacy for the job. Part of me thinks it's fucking arrogant for the guy to remove himself from a job he was grossly under-qualified for, but the other part of me is thankful because the moronic Habs might have hired him.

For the last few days, the rumors have been flying left right and center. Roy wants the job but with veto power on hockey decisions. Pat Brisson has been approached. Marc Bergevin is interested. It never ends. And thanks to Molson's secret policy, it's going to be like this for a few more weeks. I for one hope they go way outside the box.

In other news, Carey Price has a concussion. This is actually not horrible news. Shut him down for the year, let him get his rest and he'll have plenty of time to reload for next year. There was no point in sending him out there for the last three games. Had this happened in any other season, it would've crippled us.

Tonight we welcome the Lightning and perhaps our next GM in Julien Brisebois. One more loss and we're guaranteed no worse than 28th overall. Go Bolts! Although I still want Pacioretty to score. How about 7-6 Tampa. Everybody happy?

I can live with 7-6 (in regulation)

Hat-trick for Stamkos - I wish Gomez was playing so he could get one too

Inside scoop, one of the parameters outlined in the job was that you do not beat your wife. Could this influence any of the candidates, probably not. Has there ever been a year where the Montreal Canadians organization was under greater: pressure, scrutiny, and web development. The Habs have had so many shocks to the organization that have been buried. Wickenhauser, Chelios, Roy trade, all water off the camels back. Now all the past will weigh heavy on the draft pick and the Gm coach pick. It seems impossible they will get it right. Thats why I want Roy, its a flight of fancy, but if you look at history, those picks have changed the world. (Steve Jobs for example)

Good point Steve. Steve Jobs is a good example, but Joseph Stalin is a better one. There is also Big Bird but many say he was a little pedantic. And who could forget the great Art Vandelay. He was truly a pick for the ages.

Can you imagine Stalin as GM. Lose the game a you get a pistol with one bullet. However, I think he would run out of players before the playoffs.
Art would never show up for a press conference.
