No he wasn't a hockey player but he was an integral piece of the Montreal sports scene for years. He was one of the greatest Expos of all time. And he deserves our acknowledgment on this site.
He was the Kid and one of our childhood heroes. While the Habs were reeling from a rebuild in the early 80's, the Expos were the team that made the sports scene in Montreal vibrant. They were the team that captured Montrealers' imagination.
Rest in peace, Gary. You were one of a kind. The field of dreams just got a little more enjoyable.
